Following the completion of the design and documentation of the L-140 & L-150 Classroom Renovations, Bushwang moved onto the design and documentation of the L-130 and L-230 Classroom spaces. These existing terraced classrooms were stacked on top of one another within the building and had formed concrete terraces that were structural in nature and could not be easily altered, unlike those in the larger L-140/L-150 Classroom Renovation Projects. Because of this, BushWang worked with the existing terraces in the classrooms and studied the viewing angles from each potential seat to define where additional seats could be accommodated.

BushWang also incorporated the classroom standards developed prior to the L-140-L150 Renovation Projects, that included the desk design, finishes, lighting and technology within the room.

The design and documentation phases for this project took approximately 14 weeks, and the construction phase duration required approximately 16 weeks to occupancy of the space.

In ordre to expedite the project schedule, this project was phased in that the permit drawings were filed with Cambridge ISD at a 75% Construction Document (CD) completion in order to get in the 30 day que for regulatory approvals, during while the project team fully completed the CD’s for construction.
