BushWang designed the renovations to the Harvard American Repertory Theatre Screen Shop Building and the adjacent Administrative Office Building in Cambridge, MA.
The Screen Shop scope is approximately 45,000 gsf and includes the following Programs:
- Paint Deck
- Paint Lab
- Prop Shop
- Costume Storage
- Flexible Shop Area
- Clean Room Shop
- CNC Shop Area
- Staff Toilet Room
- Janitors Closet
- Equipment Storage
- Loading Docks & Receiving Areas
- Mechanical Room
- Electrical Room
The Shop Areas required a new elevated floor structure that levels the existing ground floor plane, with adjacent ramps leading to the adjacent Wood Shop, Metal Shop and shared Loading Dock Berths.
New High Bay LED lighting and a new sprinkler system were added to the shop areas, along with two story demising walls.
The two story Office Building was also renovated on both levels to provide Open Work Areas, Enclosed Offices, Staff Break Area, Wellness Room and Staff Toilet Rooms on both levels. The open public stairwell was also renovated.
The cost for this project was approximately $4.5 million.
